Just as the name indicates, this stone is strongly associated with the Moon and represents the Mother Goddess. This sweet beauty has more of a shimmer than true color, although at times there is a gem-quality blue piece, which can be found. It usually glows in pale shades of milky white grays, peach or bluish tint and is translucent.

The moonstone is another gentle stone yet has powerful attributes. It promotes empathy and intuition and enhances clairvoyance. It encourages the acceptance of psychic gifts, and helps us to embrace the goddess within. It shows us how to appreciate and accept that all existence is subjected to change – just as the moon is constantly changing her shape. However, its foremost attribute is to help in calming and soothing of our emotions.

Of course this wonderful gem has healing abilities as well. It increases the absorption of vitamins and minerals and it assists the digestive and reproductive systems. The Moonstone also aids with the elimination of toxins and water retention.

The Moonstone is also associated with Gardening, so integrating these stones in your garden while visualizing your garden in full bloom while you work is most beneficial.

Moonstone travels through the zodiac, touches several such as Cancer, Libra and Scorpio. Because of this, it is also considered to be the perfect traveling companion, especially on the water and at night.
